Richard Lynn Black

Richard Lynn Black was born in Hobbs, New Mexico on May 2nd, 1961 and went to heaven on October 18th 2024. But that is not his story. His true birth was when he was adopted by Faye and Coy Black, his life truly began at that moment. He now had a loving family to grow with. Being adopted was a story he was proud to tell. At a young age, his dad taught him the electric business which eventually led him into his love and passion for cable and internet. As a student, he enjoyed golf and was meant to go to college with a full ride scholarship, but he beat some guy up and lost it. So he took the knowledge his dad had placed upon him and took on the world being known nationally as a genius in the telecommunications industry. He ended his 40-year career with Reach Broadband, this was more than a company to him. The people at Reach had become his family and friends and he truly loved his place there. What happens when two people walk into a bar? Five girls, 20 grandchildren and a lifetime of happiness. He met Bunny ,the love of his life on New Year's Eve, 1996. They were married 6 months later on June 4th, 1997. They were married for 27 years, but that does not begin to cover their lives together. He loved Bunny so deeply and lived to make her happy. He was intentional in their marriage, taking her on dinner dates and adventures regularly. He loved his girls, being a Dad was an honor to him. He was proud of his children and would go out of his way to tell you how incredible all of his daughters had turned out. His true joy was being Poppy. He knew every grandchild deeply and truly. He bragged regularly about each one of them. He was purposeful in being a grandparent, he knew what they were into, their favorite colors, toys, favorite donut and what events they had coming up, he was not going to miss any of it. He has now joined his grandchildren Addalyn and Logan in heaven and will get to be a grandparent in a different way, enjoying each day with his own parents. He has survived by his loving wife Bunny. His daughter's Josalynn Hobbs and husband Christopher, Destini Faubion and husband Walter, Jennifer Knipp, Leah Maners, and Kimberly Perez and husband Lorenzo. Grandchildren Jacquelin, Melody, Noah, Harper, Oliver, Raylan, Arizona, Baylee, Brantley, Avalynn, Carly Jane, Bug, Marcus, Lincoln, Jet, Cian,Torrin, and Falon. He is also survived by all of his nieces and nephews that he felt belong to him personally
