Ola Mae Cork

Ola Mae Cork, surrounded by her loving family in her home, peacefully left this life to be with her Lord and Savior on January 16, 2017. She was preceded in this journey by her husband and lifelong companion, Chester, and her daughter Jackie. Ola Mae was born on July 17, 1928, in Northport, Alabama, where she lived most of her life. She was a member of, and Sunday school teacher at, Mount Olive Baptist Church for much of her life. She remained a devout Christian for the entirety of her lifetime. Besides Ola Mae maintaining a large garden with her husband Chester, she could always count on her nieces, Eunice Owens and Linda Cain, to be there for her daily coffee and conversations. Ola Mae moved to Huntsville, Texas to live with her beloved niece, Ginny Renfro and her husband Thomas, in April of 2016, where she was loved and cared for by Ginny and her children Robin & her husband Steve; Karen & her husband Brian; her son Zakery; and grandchildren Kate, Jamie, Mandi, Tori, Barrett, and Blake. She always had a huge smile and a great big “Well Hey!” for her visitors. She loved being surrounded by her great great grandnieces and nephews. Ola Mae is survived by her daughter Sharon Johnson and her husband Frank, her daughter Pam Malone and her husband Larry, and her daughter Kim Evans and her husband Tygar. She is also survived by her grandchildren Todd Smith, his wife Jennifer, and Todd’s children Parker, Madison, and Emily; Jody Broadus and his son Christian; Amanda Bush, her husband Chris, and their children Blake & Avery; Shane Broadus, his wife Stephanie, and their children Brooke & Morgan; Meghan Wade, her husband Jamie, and their daughter Camryn; and Kim’s daughters Jillian & Sydney Evans. The family will have a private visitation on Monday, January 23, 2017, at 4:00 pm, at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Huntsville and funeral services will be held at Mount Olive Baptist Church in Coker, Alabama on Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at 11:00 am for all of her family and friends to say their last farewell to this incredible lady. Interment will follow at Memory Hills Gardens in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
