Mary Viola Lutz

Mary Viola (Barnes) Lutz went home to be with the Lord Sunday the 22nd of February at the Huntsville Health Care Center, Huntsville, Texas. Mary was born October 31, 1935 to George Henry Barnes and Dovie Pearl Laymon in Douglasville, Texas. Her family moved to the Houston, Texas area at the age of three where she continued to reside until marrying her first love and moving to Angleton, TX. This is where she would raise her family. In her retirement years she settled down in Fairfield, Texas, and gave her life to being a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved flowers, growing her roses and working in the yard. Some of her best memories were numerous trips to Colorado with Jesse, her husband of 59 years. The mountains brought her great peace and well deserved relaxing times. She was also a very devoted Dallas Cowboys fan. She loved her Sunday afternoon Dallas game where there were many a shouts whether winning or loosing. Mary married Jesse Lutz on January 5, 1956 in a modest and cozy setting in Houston, TX amongst family and friends. They were married 59 years and 2 months. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Jesse Lutz; son Ray and wife Betty McManners of Willis, TX; son Roy McManners of Conroe, TX; daughter Deborah and son-in-law James Cotton of Willis, TX; daughter Brenda and son-in-law Rex Barlow of Fairfield, TX and son Timothy Lutz of Fairfield, Texas; Special Granddaughter Jessica Cotton of Willis, TX; Grandson Jesse Dye, Timothy D. Lutz, Joseph Ray McCormick, Jeb Stewart McManners; Roy Dale McManners and granddaughter Alyssa Lutz; great grandchildren Aaron Standridge, Makayla Cotton, John David Cotton, Sarah Esposito and Jonathan Esposito. She was preceded in death by her mother, Dovie Barnes; father Henry Barnes; sister Georgia Mae Norris; brother-in-law Dub Norris and Robert Milsaps and Special Grandson Christopher Michael Cotton. There will be a viewing and sharing of memories on Wednesday, February 25, 2015, from 6:00pm to 8:00 pm at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Huntsville, Texas. The funeral service will be held Thursday, 11:00am February 26, 2015, at the Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, Hunstville, TX with a graveside service to follow at the Smith Memorial Park, Willis, TX. There will be a time of food and fellowship following the graveside service at 13049 Skyline Dr, Willis, TX for any and all who would like to join.
