Judith S. Hook

Judith S. Hook was born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts on April 1, 1928. She was a member of the Junior League of Pittsfield. She married John W. Hook in 1958 and moved to South Texas where they raised five children. She graduated with honors from Pan American University in 1965, was a member of Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities and was a member of the honorary educational society, Delta Kappa Gamma. Judy taught in the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo School District for several years. After earning her Masters Degree, she became principal of Lamar Elementary in Edinburg, Texas. She was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority and served as College Chapter Director for many years. Judy and John’s passion for antiques led them to open Heritage House Antiques which they enjoyed until moving to Cullman, Alabama. There she renewed her love for the sport of golf. In the early 90’s they moved back to Texas to be closer to their children. She was a member of Texas National Golf Club where she served as president. She was a member of the Wedgewood Ladies Golf Club and served as their president. She also enjoyed playing golf at the Conroe Country Club. Judy moved to Elkins Lake in Huntsville, Texas in 2003 following John’s death. She was a member of the Ladies Golf Association and greatly enjoyed her time in the A & I Golf Association. Judy felt blessed to make so many wonderful friends at Elkins Lake. She is survived by sisters Sally Frisch of Michigan, Mary Lou Sisson of Huntsville, her twin brother Dwight Sisson of Houston, five children Karen Moore of Massachusetts, Christine Hook of Houston, Bill Hook of Weatherford, John Hook of McAllen and Jennifer Tunstall of Deer Park. She also has ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 25, at 3:00pm in the chapel of the Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow the service in Cartwright Cemetery in Montgomery County. In lieu of flowers memorial donations ,may be made to Thee Hospice - P.O. Box 6548 – Huntsville, TX 77342.
