Joshua Cade Farris Joshua Cade Farris went to be with the Lord Jesus on May 30, 2010. He was a loving and precious son, loyal brother, devoted uncle and a friend to all in need. Josh was preceded in death by great-grandparents Willie and Claire Cowart and grandfather Fred Fisher. Josh is survived by father James Michael Farris and step-mother Cindy, mother Tania Marie Lingor and step-father Michael, brother James Robert Farris and wife Sarah, brother Derrence Deon Terry and wife Whitney, sisters Karla Smith and husband Claude; Rebekah and Mona Wiggins, nephew Keegan Lee Farris and niece Alyssa Anne Smith. Joshua “Josh” Cade was a young man whose life exemplified the joy of living in Christ. He was an inspiration to hundreds of friends and family. Josh was an extraordinary athlete who loved to compete. At Coldspring-Oakhurst High School Josh competed and excelled at football, baseball, track and field, and rodeo. One of Josh’s proudest athletic achievements was when he won the 2004 Region IX finals in the Calf-Roping event. Josh graduated as Valedictorian from Coldspring-Oakhurst High School and enrolled at Sam Houston State University. At SHSU, Josh was a member of the rodeo team for four years and graduated with his BBA in management. Joshua’s passion in life was being a cowboy. He loved to have a good horse underneath him with a rope in his hand. The most important thing about Josh was his love for the Lord. Josh was an active member at Family Faith Church for 13 years where he served in many ministries including youth and usher ministries. We have peace knowing that Josh is at the right hand of Jesus waiting for our arrival in Glory. AMEN! Joshua is also survived by grandparents James and Norma Farris, Dr. J. B. Nelson, Margie and Dr. Richard Ressling; aunts and uncles Herb and Marla Atkison, Bobby and Melinda Nelson, John and Maggie Lingor, Jerry Lingor; cousins Elizabeth Ryan and husband Zach and daughter Belle, Mindy Tanner and husband Adam, and Garrett and Grant Nelson. Services for Joshua will be Wednesday, June 2, 2010, 2:30 p.m. at Family Faith Church in Huntsville, Texas with Rev. Jeff Hackleman officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Evergreen, Texas. Family received friends Tuesday, June 1, 2010, 6:00-9:00 p.m. at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Huntsville.
