Gregory Mark Eastman

Services planned for 26Jul 3p Sat at Seventh-Day Adventist Church: Gregory Mark Eastman went to be with The Lord on 17 July 2014 passing away of natural causes at the age of 59 surrounded by nature in which he loved. Greg was born January 30, 1955 in Wichita KS to Gene and Marguerite Eastman. Greg attended Valley Grande Academy in Weslaco TX, Huntsville High School, Pan American University in Edinburg TX, and Blinn Jr College in Brenham TX. After serving in the U.S. Navy, Greg began his career as a seaman working offshore. In his later years Greg also worked as a house painter and nurseÂ’s aide. In his younger days, Greg traveled and explored the U.S. and was a resourceful and skilled outdoorsman, hiker, and fisherman. He loved the great outdoors from the mountains to the seas. Greg loved helping others, from gathering blackberries to shelling pine nuts for his neighbors; Greg had such a kind and giving heart. Greg loved to socialize and had many friends with whom he cared about. He was a true and loyal friend who was honest and said what he meant and meant what he said. In the past year Greg had taken Spanish and dance classes. He had accepted Jesus Christ into his life and attended The Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Huntsville TX. Even though Greg was disabled and in declining health, he was always on the go, walking his beloved dog Paw Paw faithfully for miles every day. His motto was "Use it or lose it." Fearless to the end, Greg was a free and adventurous spirit who walked his own walk and lived life to the fullest and on his own terms. We love and will miss you Greg and will see you one day. Greg was preceded in death by his mother Marguerite Coon Eastman. He is survived by his father Gene M. Eastman of Huntsville TX, sister Susan D. Eastman of Taylor TX, sister Jennifer L. Mathena (Eugene) of Conroe TX, nephew CRPL Forrest Eldridge of Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, niece Meagan Eldridge of The Woodlands TX, aunt Joy Brumley of North Liberty IA, aunt Carol Kornman of Tampa FL, and numerous loved cousins.
