Belinda March Tomlinson November 20, 1959 - July 6, 2024 Belinda Tomlinson loved us…wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend; colleague, your neighbor, a passerby, perhaps a friend of a friend - Belinda loved us. On July 6, 2024, at age 64, she left this world, but thankfully, in each of us, her love lives on. She was born in Tampa, Florida on November 20, 1959. The third child, the second girl - early on, Belinda revealed she was indeed, the free spirit of a close-knit bunch. Alongside her brothers and sister, she grew up on Clearwater Beach, Florida, where she attended school, achieved honorary beach attendance, and spearheaded a neighborhood-wide initiative, prompting mothers to stand in concert ticket lines on behalf of their 70s-rock-loving kids. When not on the beach, Belinda and her siblings attended speed boat races in support of their dad, sailed on the Gulf of Mexico, and fished the ocean, as taught by their mom. Later, with a killer tan and her sun-kissed locks, Belinda rightfully traded those sandy beaches for the grit, pride, and independence of Texas. She moved to Houston, where she met the love of her life, Bill, a/k/a B.T. Shortly thereafter, the couple moved to Huntsville, raised a family, and lived out their very own love story. Belinda’s life was a testament to her vibrant personality. Effortlessly, she drew people close, made meaningful connections, and for those lucky enough, shared lifelong friendships. Her intuition was spot on, and she was known for being in the right place, at the right time, for a heart in need. Belinda was a fiercely devoted wife and mother, and her unique blend of affection sprinkled with an appropriate amount of tough love earned her the title of “mom” by many. Quite fitting, seeing how much she loved her own mom…she LOVED her mom. Year after year, so as to spend July 4th with her mom, Belinda made the trek from Texas to Florida, with her husband, kids, and dog (and in later years, just husband and dog, sans kids) in tow. Her talents were as diverse as her music collection. She had a mean green thumb, was a stained-glass artist, and could pull off dinner for four (including dessert) using only a toaster oven. She was a people person by virtue and by trade. Having built a career centered around service to others, she found the perfect balance for over 30 years with a side gig, that blended her sharpest skills with her personal passions…service, people experiencing joy, music, and being outdoors. She was happiest with life’s simple pleasures - her family being together, Christmas morning, her pets (both domestic and wild), the sun on her face, Texas wildflowers in the Spring, estate sales, taking something old and making it new, weekend brunch, vinyl records, belly laughs, and sweets. Belinda is survived by her husband and best friend of 44 years, Bill; her daughter Jennifer (Brantley), grandson Garrett, and granddaughter Tess; her daughter Lyndsey (Joe), granddaughter Sydney, and grandson Anton; her mother, Evelyn; her brother Mark (Denise) and niece Melissa; her sister Evelyn (Ray), nephews Josh and Ray Jr.; her brother Jimmy; and her labrador retriever, Ruger. She is preceded in death by her father, Tommy, and granddaughter, Harper, daughter of Lyndsey; her labrador retrievers, Abraham, Lumpy, and Buddy, and her favorite of all, Hank. To honor Belinda, her family wishes to extend an invitation to those who knew and loved her, to a memorial service on July 28, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, Woodforest Bank Club, 2005 Lake Robbins Drive, The Woodlands, TX 77380.
