Vivian grew up on a farm picking cotton and caring for her brothers and sisters. There she learned many of the life-long skills that she shared with her family. After school she worked at Joske' s and Graybar Electric as a PBX operator. She was a great cook, and her chicken and dumplings and pecan pie were a favorite at any family gathering. She loved preparing meals and had the pots and pans to prove it. She could make anything taste good. Growing up on a farm made gardening second nature to Vivian. She could grow any and everything. She even had a zinnia growing through a crack in her driveway. Her favorite plant was the daylily, and she had many varieties growing in her yard. She always took special care that the birds and butterflies had plenty of food and water. Most of all, Vivian loved her family and took joy in being with them. She was a strong lady who told it like it was and stood her ground. She was always there to help if needed. Her knowledge and wit will be missed but fond memories will be cherished always. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 2:00PM at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Willis. You are invited to leave a written condolence on our website at www.shmfh.com.
