Thomas Edward Stanisky, Jr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Thomas (Tom) Edward Stanisky Jr. was born on April 13, 1954, in Highland Park, Michigan. Tom passed away at home on April 8, 2022, in Montgomery, Texas. Tom spent his childhood years living in Center Line, Michigan with his younger sister and two younger brothers. He was the oldest child of Donna and Thomas Stanisky Sr. Growing up he enjoyed participating in outdoor sports such as ice hockey, snowmobiling, tennis and football with his brothers and neighborhood friends. He often spoke of fond childhood memories of summer camping trips with his mom, dad, sister, and brothers. After high school he was in a competitive billiards club. He was very good, and later in life impressed his nephews with his skills. In 1979 Tom decided to move to Houston, Texas, where he began working in the oil and steel grading industries. On March 23, 1991, Tom married the love of his life, Helen. Together they built a house in Dayton, Texas where they lived for 27 years. They spent the last four years together in Montgomery, Texas. Tom enjoyed sharing stories of how he achieved his diver certificate and telling stories of various diving excursions. Adult pastimes were gardening and yard work (he was especially fond of his roses), photography, and riding his motorcycle with Helen. In his later years, Tom loved catching up with his grandkids and hearing about their school, work, and sports achievements. He enjoyed family visits, having coffee with Helen on the back porch, visiting with his sister Denise, and spoiling their dog Bella with treats. He is survived by his wife Helen and his four stepchildren, Donna Bishop, Shane Gaspard, Missy Robinson, and Corey Gaspard (Gina), his sister Denise Berg and her husband Steve Berg, his eight grandchildren, Joseph Robinson, Marcus Robinson, Leah Gmirek (Sam), Krislyn Gaspard, Camren Gaspard, Joe Vavra, Luke Gaspard and William Gaspard, and nephews Michael (Christina) Skeltis, Matthew (Morgane) Skeltis, Tony (Jasmine) Skeltis, Nick (Maria) Skeltis. Visitation will be held at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Montgomery, Texas on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. with a service beginning at 2:00 pm.
