Rebel Dawn Fendley

July 11, 1936 - November 2, 2021

Rebel Dawn Fendley of Magnolia, Texas, passed away on November 2, 2021. She was born July 11, 1936, in San Antonio, Texas, at Santa Rosa Hospital as the noon whistle was blowing, to Rebel Ruth Burge and Willie Conra Wilson. She was blessed to have a wonderful step-father, David L. "Buddy" Geigenmiller, who came into her life when she was 12 years old. Dawn was preceded in death by her husband, John Lester Fendley and her sisters Sandra Medley and Janice Clark. Survivors include daughter, Robin Bronikowski (Johnny); son, Douglas Dittfurth and stepdaughter Tisha Harms (Art). Grandchildren Douglas Dittfurth, Jr., Kelly Neef (Coletun), Jeremy Bronikowski (Rebecca), Wyatt Bronikowski, Luke Harms (Hannah), Josh Harms (Gladys) and Sarah Duplichan. Great-grandchildren Jonathan, Olivia, Robert, Rebecca and Grace Harms, Haley and Ava Duplichan, Elias Dittfurth, Lily Bronikowski and Dorian Neef. Brother David Geigenmiller (Sharon) and her precious nieces and nephews. Dawn grew up in San Antonio, Texas, where her love for family history was nurtured by her grandmother, Arnie Mooty Burge. She later developed a passion for genealogy and had many enjoyable trips to libraries, courthouses, and cemeteries wherever her ancestors lived. Dawn was a former member of the John Barker, Esq. Chapter, Daughters of the American Colonists; the Margaret Montgomery Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution; the Thomas Bay Chapter, U. S. Daughters of 1812 and the J. B. Gordon Chapter, United Daughters of the Confederacy. She was also a member of the Joyful Life Lutheran Church of Magnolia. The family will receive friends on Monday, November 8th from 5pm to 7pm at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Willis, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10am on Tuesday, November 9th, at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home, 10129 FM 1097, Willis, Texas 77318. Interment will follow the service at Hill Cemetery, Hwy 150, three miles east of New Waverly, TX. In lieu of flowers, Dawn requested a donation be made to Joyful Life Church, 5514 F.M. 1488, Magnolia, TX 77354, or a charity of your choice. Memorial condolences may be made to the family at www.shmfh.com.
