On 02/22/2021 my lifetime companion of 56 years, best friend, and wife Myntje Aplonia Hogue went home to be with the Lord on Monday morning. Although we celebrate her transition into glory it still leaves a hole in our heart because of the separation of her physical presence and smiling face. Myntje Aplonia Hogue was an adopted child of Garrett and Anna Van Den Over from Holland where they immigrated to the United States. It was at that time that she met Carl Hogue in Richmond, California and after a period of time, fell in love and were wed. We had three sons over the course of the next six years whose names are Mike, Mario, and Marc. Throughout the years we remained a strong family unit and she put family first above everything else. She was well revered by her friends, her family, and her church family, and she loved and longed to be around friends and family always. That was her greatest joy. With all the pain-and-suffering that she has gone through in the past years she has always remained faithful and an encouragement to others to continue to persevere in spite of their difficulties. As we mourn my wife, Myntje Hogue’s passing I want to celebrate her life and the positive influence she has had on others as an encouragement to all those who knew her. I will miss my friend, my love, and lifelong companion until we are together again. Myntje is survived by Dr. Carl Hogue, husband; Michael Lawrence Hogue, son; and Marc Stephen Hogue, son. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is together with our middle son, Mario Eugene Hogue, who made that transition years ago on 11-21-2014. We celebrate her joy and comfort knowing that she is with family and friends in the presence of the Lord. A memorial service will be set up at a later date when we have transitioned through this COVID-19 pandemic. The time and place will be announced. You are invited to leave a written condolence on the funeral home website at www.shmfh.com.
