Jimmy Ray Hoot, 68, of Huntsville, Texas passed away on Monday, November 29, 2021. Jimmy Ray was born on May 18, 1953 in Houston, Texas to James Adron and Nina Kathleen Hoot who preceded him in death. Jimmy Ray had a strong work ethic that led to him become one of the youngest supervisors at the Atlantic Richfield (ARCO) Pasadena Plant. In 1985, he retired from ARCO and moved his family to follow his passion for building beautiful homes in the Huntsville community. Outside of work, Jimmy Ray loved to grill, participate in cook-offs and baking. He also enjoyed watching any and all football games, even though win or lose he was a Texans fan. Jimmy Ray was a Godly man that loved sharing scriptures and loved his Bible. He mentored many, and was looked up to and sought out for his wealth of knowledge and sound advice. He believed in sharing his blessings, so he was always willing to help those in need. Jimmy Ray never met a stranger. If he did, they were never a stranger for long. However, Jimmy Ray was best known for the love and dedication he had to his family and those he loved. He was a strong, kind, loving and supportive father. Jimmy Ray had a way with words, telling stories and sharing his life experiences, and he always had a smile for everyone. He was loved by his family, friends and many others. His big heart, love of God and family, his compassion, wisdom, and kindness will forever be missed, but will never be forgotten. Those left to cherish Jimmy Ray's memory are his wife, Teresa, his daughters Tara Walters (husband Gary) and Renee Everitt. Sons Chris Mabry (wife Brittny) and Tyler Mabry (wife Nicole). Jimmy Ray was blessed with eight grandchildren Karson, Lauren, Mason, and Chance Walters (wife Chelsea), Sutton Everitt, Hannah Wilson (husband James), Reagan Everitt and Marshall Mabry and three great grandchildren, Koden Wilson, Chayse and Chandler Walters who all lovingly referred to him as their Daddo. Also left to treasure his memory is his sister, Linda Diane Simpson, niece, Stacey Diane Copeland (husband Brian), nephew Adron Simpson (wife Amber) and numerous great nieces and nephews.
