Etsuko Hashaw

March 25, 2022

Etsuko Hashaw, 87, of Warner Robins, GA, passed away peacefully at her home on March 25, 2022. A graveside service will be held at East Sandy Cemetery on April 2, 2022 at 10:00am. She was born in Kyoto, Japan and was the daughter of Sumiyosi and Teruko of Japan. She was of Baptist faith and retired from Mitsui Steel Company of Houston, Texas. She loved traveling, was a wonderful cook, enjoyed her hot tea, enjoyed shopping and reading books. She had boundless energy and loved singing, dancing, laughing and playing with children. A good animated story teller, especially Japanese ghost stories, as well as her life as a young Japanese girl. She was very competitive athletically, even as an adult, achieving several 300 games bowling but her family was her greatest joy. Mrs. Hashaw is preceded in death by her husband Estel Hashaw, both parents, two sisters; Katsuko and Toshiko, son James Hashaw and sons-in-law Larry Perez and Ayche Snyder. Left to cherish her memory are John Hashaw (Audrey), Nora Hashaw, Carol Knowles (Dave), 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and her beloved cat Nikki. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Huntsville, Texas has been entrusted with the arrangements. Memorial condolences to the family may be made at www.shmfh.com.
