He passed away January 1, 2022 at his home in New Waverly, TX. Delton started school at Tennessee Colony and finished at Elkhart before going to work in Palestine at a service station, which help spark his lifelong love and interest of dealing with automobiles. A few years later Delton hired on with an oil company, continuing to work in the local area and was ready to serve his country after receiving his draft card. During this time, Delton served as Mayor of New Waverly during the 1980's. After his retirement from Louisiana Pacific, Delton went back to his love of dealing with automobiles and serving people, where he was known for his kind nature, honesty, and quality used vehicles. He and his wife Sherry also opened Waverly Crossing Furniture in Downtown New Waverly.
