Billy Joe Bennett Sr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Billy Joe Bennett, Sr. of Dodge, Texas, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 7, 2020. Billy Joe was a faithful deacon at First Baptist Church Dodge from 1965 to present. He was in the automotive business for over 40 years, beginning with Joe Chick and continuing with Wood Motors, Moore Henry Motors, Cole Motor Company, Holland Chevrolet, Bluebonnet Motors in Navasota, Goodman Dodge and Wiesner Huntsville. He established Huntsville Auto Sales with wife, Evelyn and son, Billy, Jr. Billy Joe loved hunting, especially hog hunting and loved “the woods.” Billy Joe was born to parents Robert and Mattie Mae Bennett on April 7, 1940, in Oakhurst, Texas. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 60 years Evelyn, brother Curtis Bennett and wife Kathy, sister Nelda Wienert, sister Dixxie Means and brother Tommy Bennett and wife Terrie. He was a loving father to son Billy Jr. and wife Kay, daughter Karen Jones and husband Martin and daughter Brenda Waters and husband Ronnie. He was the proud PawPaw to grandchildren Frances Gulick and husband Curtis, Samantha Miller and husband Adam, Lindsay Moralez and husband Mike, Christopher Jones, Caitlin McCrystal and husband Clint, Ryan Bennett and wife Katrina, Carrie Jones and great grandchildren Clare, Kennedy, Cambree and Wyatt. We encourage all to attend public visitation Saturday, July 11th at First Baptist Church Dodge from 12:00pm – 1:00pm with a private service for the immediate family at 2:00pm.
