Bessie Mae Mabry Fritz

April 6, 1938 - February 15, 2022

On April 6, 1938 a spirited little girl was born to Henry and Johnnie Mae Mabry in Groveton, TX and they named her Bessie Mae Mabry. She was a bit of a tomboy with an older sister and brother, and two younger sisters and one little brother. She passed on February 15, 2022 at the age of 83 following a long illness. In August 1954 she married Laymon Fritz and was married 60+ years until his death. Bessie is preceded in death by her husband Laymon Fritz, her parents Henry and Johnnie Mae Mabry, her sister Ima Jean Lloyd, her brothers Donald Mabry and Tommy Mabry, a grandson Justin Fritz, and a granddaughter Kayla Denn. She is survived by her sisters Janis Campbell of Fairfield, TX, Cynthie Smith of Houston, TX, and sister-in-law Sandra Mabry of Rusk, TX. Also her daughter Maggi Denn and husband Randy Denn of Montgomery, a son Kenny Fritz and LeAnn Cantu of Adkins, TX, son Steve Fritz and wife Carol of LaVernia, TX, her grandchildren Daundi Boren and Ray Allman, Nicole Edwards and husband Jimmy, Brett Fritz and wife Samantha, Sarah Cannan and husband Spencer, and Mark Denn.. Her little loves, her nine great grandchildren Delaney Boren, Stetson Boren, Cutler Boren, James Edwards, Joshua Edwards, Stephanie Fritz, Adalynn Fritz, Samuel Fritz, and Kayleigh Cannan along with many extended family members and friends. Her family was everything to her and they will miss her greatly. Visitation will be held from 1-2PM on Friday, February 18th at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home 20850 Eva St., Montgomery 77356 with services beginning at 2pm.
