Bruce Lewis Oberman May 20, 1951-June 13, 2015 ~Long may he Run~ In the still hours of the morning, this world lost the man, the myth, and legend Bruce Lewis Oberman, 64. He left this world while in a peaceful slumber beside his partner and love in this life, Nan Jenkins. Bruce was known in his community for his ability to come into any home and create a room of dreams, or repair a room of nightmares. What far fewer knew about Bruce Oberman, his passions in marquetry, parquetry, and the artistry he possessed in all things wood and glass. He is survived by his loving partner Nan Jenkins with whom he shared 10 wonderful years. Bruce was a leader of crews, and many men throughout his life, but especially of his three sons: Aaron, Whit, and Gramm; he is survived also by Whit's wife Sarah and their two sons Dylan and Whit, as well as Gramm's wife Angie. He is also survived by Nan's daughter Ashley Harrison Shindeldecker, her husband Alex Shindeldecker, and grandson Maxwell Harrison-Shindeldecker. Bruce was also gifted his second mother in his life Billie Jenkins whom he called "Momma". A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 18, 2015 in the chapel of Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Huntsville, Texas. The family would like to thank the community and friends for their support and most of all for loving Bruce.
